GRBK-1500  Great Books: Ancient Greece  
(3 credits)  (Both Fall & Spring Semesters)  
In this course students explore the world of the ancient Greeks through great works of literature, history, and philosophy. Students read Greek authors in translation and engage in seminar discussions. Readings will include works by Homer, Plato, Aristotle and the Greek tragedians. This is one of a series of seminars offered by the "Great Books: the Good, the True, and the Beautiful" program. Student may not get credit for both GRBK-1500 and GRBK-1750. (AE, WC, WP)

In this course, students explore the world of the ancient Romans through great works of literature, history, and philosophy. Students read Roman authors in translation and engage in seminar discussions. Readings will include works by Virgil, Cicero, and St. Augustine. This is one of a series of seminars offered by the "Great Books: the Good, the True, and the Beautiful" program. May get credit for both GRBK-1550 and GRBK-1750. (AE, OC, WC, WP)
