The college course requirements for admission to colleges of optometry are fairly uniform. All schools place emphasis on college courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and the biological sciences. Most students entering schools of optometry have completed a bachelor’s degree. Some schools specify additional courses, such as psychology, social science, literature, philosophy and foreign language.
