A Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications provides the education needed to become a professional communicator. Students are introduced to a strong foundation in both theory and practice in writing, design, photography, audio production, digital media, social media, and strategic communications.
The program places an emphasis on a liberal arts approach to learning, fostering critical thinking, and instilling a deep understanding of the legal and ethical responsibilities that come with modern mass communications.
The program prepares graduates for a diverse range of career opportunities including news reporting, public relations, social media management, photography, videography, digital marketing, corporate and political communications, and nonprofit advocacy.
Minimum Percentage of Credits
Students must complete a minimum of 50% of the coursework needed for the Journalism and Mass Communications major or minor from classes offered by Benedictine College.
